On Saturday, March 6, 2010, more than 300 volunteers are needed to "makeover" the Wildcat School!
The Wildcat School, a 6-8 grade 501(c)(3) charter middle school associated with The University of Arizona, is a unique learning environment in which excellence in academics and personal growth are essential factors for student success. With an attitude that failure is not an option students are provided a rigorous academic program, which is grounded in high expectations, community service, and U of A interns providing one-on-one mentoring. Wildcat School staff does whatever it takes to ensure academic and social success for all. Ninety-six percent of our students qualify for free and reduced lunches. Through the hard work of students and staff the Wildcat School is a Performing Plus school per Arizona Learns.
Students at the Wildcat School are focusing on two major themes, which we will incorporate into the Cats Day projects:
The project roster includes painting, murals, woodworking, cleaning, and organizing, with a special focus on sustainability projects including sustainable gardens and water harvesting.
